Ice sports have a long tradition in Otago and in Dunedin dating right back to the early settlement. Ice Sports Dunedin Inc. was established in 2002 and became a registered Charity in 2010. The organisation exists to support all disciplines of the ice sporting community, from operating the Dunedin Ice Stadium, organising on ice programmes, and helping clubs with their administration. Our board consists of representatives from the Dunedin City Council, Sport Otago, Dunedin Ice Hockey Club, Dunedin Ice Skating Club, and Dunedin Curling Club. The organisation is entirely self funded with most of our funding coming from admissions and the rental of ice time.
